Research awards
•ASBMB UAN Undergraduate Research Award - provides support for undergraduate students for their summer research projects in ASBMB members' labs.
•Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Summer Research Team Program for Minority Serving Institutions - provides faculty and student research teams with the opportunity to conduct research at the DHS Centers of Excellence.
• DHS HS-STEM Summer Internship Program - provides eligible rising juniors and seniors with the opportunity to conduct research in DHS mission-relevant research areas at federal research facilities.
• The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) - provides funding for undergraduate students in biology, chemistry, physics, earth science and engineering to conduct research with graduate students in Germany.
• NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program - offers undergraduates mentored internship experiences at NASA Centers and research support facilities.
Other awards
• ASBMB UAN Travel Award - Support undergraduate students attending the ASBMB Annual Meeting. Applicants must be members of ASBMB.
• ACS Scholars Award - Supports African American, Native American and Hispanic students planning to pursue full-time study in a chemically-related field.
• Department of Homeland Security Scholarship Program - intended for students interested in pursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to the DHS mission.

• FASEB MARC travel awards - provides funding for travel awards to encourage and support the participation of underrepresented students at scientific meetings
Graduate Students
Research awards
• Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Minority PhD Program - offers support to underrepresented minority students who are beginning their doctoral work in engineering, the natural science and mathematics.
• Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Indigenous Graduate Partnership - allows eligible American Indian master's and doctoral candidates at partner institutions to apply for scholarships designed to facilitate graduate study in STEM.
• American Society for Microbiology Robert D. Watkins Graduate Research Fellowship - eligible candidates must be from groups that have been determined by the applicant's institution to be underrepresented in the microbiological sciences.
• Department of Energy: Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (CSGF)
• Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Fellowship - supports outstanding students to pursue graduate training in basic research in areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computational sciences, and environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science.
• EPA Science To Achieve Results (STAR) Graduate Fellowships - supports students seeking advanced degrees in environmental science and engineering.
• Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship - supports outstanding students pursuing a doctoral degree in the applied physical, biological, and engineering sciences.
