Research

My current interests center on the proteins that bind oxygen for transport or storage, including structure, allosteric transitions, binding kinetics and mechanisms. Recent work has concentrated on the evolution of these structures and their functions, including studies at the single molecule level, using two-photon exitation of fluorescence.
