In 1996 past Oregon State University president Robert MacVicar and his wife Clarice MacVicar established the Robert and Clarice MacVicar fund to support interdisciplinary education and/or research programs in animal health at Oregon State University. The College of Veterinary Medicine, Biochemistry and Biophysics, and Microbiology Dean/Chair serve as members of the committee to review proposals and make recommendations for projects which fit the guidelines for the award. Projects should be of high quality that capitalize on interdisciplinary strengths that have the greatest impacts on animal health in masters of doctoral training program. The award is a $5,000 stipend with a 1,000 laboratory supplies/travel stipend.
